BRADENTON, Fla. – Bethel Women's Volleyball opened its season with a pair of five-set matches at the Mighty Banyan VolleyPalooza on Friday. Falling to New College of Florida 3-2 in the morning session before dropping a 3-2 decision to William Carey (Miss.) in the afternoon.

Match One: New College of Florida def. Bethel, 3-2
- Bethel and New College of Florida traded points early in the first set before the Pilots pulled away late, closing on a run keyed by Taylor Delp's serving which included three aces and a kill during the stretch to take the opener 25-22.
- NCF flipped the momentum in the second, opening on a run that included three straight service aces from Soraya Nacero, and cruised from there to level the match at 25-14.
- The Pilots regained control in the third, building a 17-11 cushion behind kills from Giuliana Batista and Hayden Ramsey. The Banyans clawed back to tie it at 23, but Bethel closed it out 25-23 on a Hayden Ramsey kill.
- New College of Florida took over in the fourth behind Wiktoria Telecka's hitting and pulled away down the stretch to force a fifth set, 25-20.
- In the decider, NCF built an early cushion and never let go, finishing the match 15-8 to complete the comeback.

Match Two: William Carey (Miss.) def. Bethel, 3-2
- Bethel jumped out front in the opener and blew it open late, ripping off a five-point run with kills from Alex Brown and Hayden Ramsey off Lily Vester's serve to win the first set 25-15.
- William Carey answered in the second, riding Emily Martin's play at the net through a tight back-and-forth set to escape 25-23.
- The Crusaders controlled the third from the opening serve, scoring the first six points behind Emily Martin and never looking back in a 25-10 win.
- Bethel steadied in the fourth, trading points with WCU late into the set before closing it out 25-22 to force a decisive fifth.
- William Carey pulled ahead in the fifth and closed out the match 15-8 to take the win
