COLUMBUS, Ind. ---After struggling in the opening round of the Crossroads League Women's Golf Championship last Monday, the RV Bethel Women's Golf Team put together two solid scores in rounds two and three to finish fourth overall in the 54-hole tournament, played Monday and Tuesday at the Harrison Lake Country Club.
The Pilots team score of 336 was 19 shots over their season average and left them scrambling in fifth place overall. Izabela Aigner, coming off an injury that limited her much of the spring, led the way in round one with an 82. The Pilots picked it up in the afternoon as Bethel posted 318. Aigner fired a +6 score of 77 and was matched by Senior
Selah Unwin.
Bethel sat in a tie for fifth place with Huntington after the long say one and just one shot ahead of #18 Taylor, but a final round 75 from Unwin and a 79 from
Ellie Webster sparked the Pilots to a 315 to move them up the leaderboard.
"This was not the performance we hoped for, but I was proud of the way we hung in it after the first round yesterday and continued to battle," said Bethel Skipper
Christopher Hess. "After an amazing fall season...this team has no reason to hang their heads and with four of the starting five returning, the future looks bright for this young squad."
The Pilots conclude their season receiving votes in the NAIA and will look to pick competition back up in the fall. For more information about Bethel Pilots Athletics, check out bupilots.com or follow us on Instagram, Facebook, or X by searching @bupilots or #TheRightWayToPlay.
