HUNTINGTON, Ind. —The Bethel University Women's Tennis Team fell 4-0 to Huntington University in the opening round of the Crossroads League Tournament on Monday.
Huntington took control early, winning the doubles point with victories at No. 2 (6-1) and No. 3 (6-0), while the No. 1 match went unfinished at 3-3.
In singles play, the Foresters continued their momentum, earning straight-set wins at No. 1 (6-1, 6-1), No. 3 (6-1, 6-1), and No. 4 (6-1, 6-1) to clinch the match.
Despite the final score, Bethel showed fight in several spots.
Sandy Sharaf battled in a tight match at No. 2, with the contest sitting at 6-4, 7-6, 5-3 before going unfinished. Additional matches at No. 5 (4-6) and No. 6 (6-4) were also in progress when Huntington secured the fourth point.
The loss brings the Pilots' season to a close, as Bethel wraps up its run in the Crossroads League Tournament.
