Box Score SOUTHFIELD, Mich. — The No. 13 Bethel Pilots (15-4, 13-0) earned a straight-set win ((25-23, 25-22, 25-23) over the Lawrence Tech Blue Devils (14-6, 10-5) on Saturday at the Don Ridler Field House.
The Pilots were tested in every set but executed in key moments, holding off multiple late pushes from Lawrence Tech to secure the sweep.
Thomas Dunkley led the offense with 17 kills, while
Santana Roybal-Benson added 10 kills on an efficient .769 hitting percentage.
Ling Pak Him contributed 9 kills, and
Uros Miloradovic chipped in 3.
McGwire Eigenrauch directed the offense with 38 assists as Bethel hit .293 as a team. Defensively,
Eduardo Kerkoski led the Pilots with 8 digs.
Bethel finished with 40 kills compared to 41 from Lawrence Tech but was more efficient throughout, limiting errors and controlling key points late in each set.
Head Coach Jose Viera Cerame shared, "Today was a battle because LTU made changes in their lineup, but we adapted quickly. Our offense did what they were supposed to do and our defensive presence was big. Now the focus is on Lourdes this Tuesday. What a good weekend to be a PILOT!"
The Pilots will next face the No. 7 Lourdes University Gray Wolves (19-3, 13-1) on the road on Tuesday. First serve is set for 7 PM at the Russell J. Ebeid Recreation Center.
