UPLAND, Ind. ---The Bethel Competitive Cheer Teams competed at the Taylor Invite on Saturday afternoon, placing sixth out of the eight teams that competed.

While the Bethel Intermediate Team did not place, they delivered an impressive 73.63 score to surpass the University of Saint Francis and Aquinas, alongside the Advanced Team. 
 
Head Coach Lexie Sturgill shared, "The Bethel Intermediate Team delivered a great final routine tonight, showing a significant increase in execution compared to previous weekends. Their energy, passion, and effort were evident the entire time they were on the mat, and it truly showed in their performance. As coaches, we are incredibly proud of how this group competed and grew throughout the season. What a special way to close out the first-ever Bethel Intermediate competitive season, this team should be very proud of what they accomplished."

Sturgill continued, "The Bethel Advanced Competitive Team had a great night, continuing to demonstrate new elite-level skills and growth throughout their routine. They represented Christ in all they did, showing perseverance, composure, and heart on the mat. Even when a few things didn't go perfectly, this team fought through the routine with confidence and determination. We are incredibly proud of the way they competed and the character they displayed, both as athletes and as representatives of Bethel."

The Advanced Team will next compete at the University of Saint Francis for the Crossroads League Championship. The preliminary rounds are set for Saturday, March 7 with the final competition taking place on Sunday, March 8.
