MARION, Ind. — The Bethel Pilots finished eighth out of ten teams at the Crossroads League Indoor Championships, hosted by Indiana Wesleyan at Troyer Fieldhouse on Friday and Saturday.
Friday Highlights
Bethel was led by strong performances in the Heptathlon.
Jack Jewett had an outstanding day, winning both the long jump (6.43m) and the high jump (1.92m). He also added an eighth-place finish in the shot put (10.22m).
Christopher Korthuis also delivered a strong showing in the Heptathlon. He won the 60 meters in 7.09 seconds, placed second in the long jump (6.39m), finished fifth in the high jump (1.74m), and added a sixth-place finish in the shot put (10.40m).
In the open 60 meters,
James Gill placed seventh with a time of 6.88 seconds, while
Joshua Harmon followed in ninth at 6.94 seconds.
In the 600 meters,
Noah Jarvis recorded a 10th-place finish in 1:25.58.
In the field events,
Joey Rutten placed sixth in the pole vault with a clearance of 4.50m. In the weight throw, Josh Handschu finished sixth (14.23m) and
Tyler Simpson placed eighth (14.18m).
Saturday Highlights
Highlighting day two was
Jack Jewett, who took home silver in the Heptathlon (4597) as a Freshman. In the Heptathlon 60m Hurdles, Jewett took first out of 11 athletes (8.76 seconds).
In the Heptathlon 1000m, Christopher Korthius placed fourth out of eleven athletes (3:00.53).
Joshua Harmon showcased a top-five finish in the 200m, placing fourth with a time of 22.47 seconds.
In the 3000m,
Aaron Douglass finished in the top 50% of the field with a time of 9:02.22 (11th out of 25 athletes who scored).
From the field, Josh Handschu continued to excel, placing ninth out of 22 athletes with a mark of 12.99m.
