ROMEOVILLE, Ill. – The Bethel women's cross country team started its 2025 season on Friday at the Flyer Early Bird Invite, facing a shorter 4000m course to kick off the year.
Anna Enderle led the Pilots with a 15th-place (out of 78 runners who scored) result in 15:37.03. Enderle finished above all NCAA Division II runners from Purdue Northwest (Ind.)
The Pilots didn't achieve a team score due to an incomplete lineup but demonstrated significant effort and progress in their initial meet of the season.
Coach Ryan Sommers stated, "The attitudes and efforts were excellent all around, I'm proud of how they seized the opportunity to get outside, shake off the cobwebs, and establish the tone for the season."
Freshman
Adelyn Rainsberger had a solid college debut, finishing 42nd with a time of 17:38.15. She shared her thoughts regarding her initial college competition: "That was such a blast. I'm looking forward to the remainder of the season."
Sophomores
Taylor Horner (55th, 19:30.77) and
Addison Prokop (61st, 19:59.87) completed the roster.
The Bethel Pilots will next compete this Saturday, Sept. 13th at the Diemer Classic, hosted by Calvin University in Grand Rapids, Mich. The meet will commence at 9:30 AM.
