Box Score HUNTINGTON, Ind. ---The Bethel Pilots (9-6, 1-1) fell to the Huntington University Foresters (11-1, 2-0) on the road on Saturday afternoon.
The Pilots battled back to win two consecutive sets (the third and the fourth) after Huntington won the first two.Â
The Foresters took the final set of the afternoon 15-10, following a significant six-point run that concluded with a block (8-1).Â
Taylor Delp hit a new personal high for digs in a single game this season (18) and led the team in blocks (four).Â
Sophia Beeson, who terminated the final Bethel kill of the match, racked up fourteen kills.Â
Haley Biedenbach recorded an impressive 44 assists, and co-led the team for service aces (one)Â with
Ainsley Tacke.
Head Coach Erica Dregits shared, "Our 10 point comeback in set four was quite impressive. We fought hard and didn't give up. In general, we need to learn how to be more consistent and reduce our unforced errors when we aren't under pressure."
Taylor Delp shared, "We started a little slow today and had to dig ourselves out of holes throughout the match. I think our fight showed toward the end. As a team, we know that's something we need to improve on, and we're going to keep working to come out stronger from the start."
Women's Volleyball will face their next Crossroads League Opponent, the No. 16 Marian University Knights, on Wednesday, Sept. 10 at 5:00 PM. The Pilots will host the ranked opponent on the campus of Bethel University, in the Gates Gymnasium.Â
