Box Score DAVENPORT, Iowa – The Bethel University women's lacrosse team put together a strong performance on Saturday afternoon, securing a convincing 15-5 win over St. Ambrose University.
The Pilots (2-2) came out firing in the first quarter, scoring seven goals while holding the Fighting Bees to just one. Chloe Harding and Addi Jones led the charge with three goals each, while Serenity Kretschmer and Pj Pearson added two apiece. Bethel controlled possession early, winning five draw controls in the opening frame.
St. Ambrose (0-3) struggled to find offensive momentum against Bethel's defense, as goalkeeper Maddie Reel anchored the Pilots with 12 saves. The Pilots also won the ground ball battle, 20-17, and forced 19 turnovers from the Fighting Bees.
The second quarter saw Bethel maintain its lead, with Jones, Pearson, and Mackenzie Holland adding to the scoreboard. St. Ambrose responded with a goal from Anabelle Brown, but the Pilots remained in control, entering halftime with a 10-2 advantage.
Bethel's efficient attack and aggressive defense kept them in command despite a more competitive second half. Harding and Kretschmer each found the back of the net again, and Callie Brondyke capped off the scoring late in the fourth quarter to seal the dominant victory.
The Pilots will look to carry their momentum into their next matchup on Wednesday, March 12, when they travel to face Anderson University (IN) at 5 p.m. at Macholtz Stadium in Anderson, Ind.
