Women's Lacrosse outpaced by Georgetown

GEORGETOWN, Ky. ---The Bethel Pilots (0-2) fell to the Georgetown University Tigers (2-4) 13-7 in the Toyota Stadium on Tuesday. 

The Pilots were evenly matched, with the number of shots taken (25) as compared to the Tigers (30). 

The Tigers maintained better control of the ball, recording 17 turnovers as opposed to Bethel's 27. 

Isabell Gerbrand led the Bethel offense with three goals, alongside three assists, for a total of six points. 

Addi Jones and Serenity Kretschmer each posted two goals and two assists. 

In the first quarter, Isabell Gerbrand scored back-to-back goals for the Pilots (12:07 and 7:15) to put Bethel ahead 2-1. 

The Tigers tied up the score at 2:19 (2-2) to close out the first. 

At the onset of the second, a scoring stall ensued for the first five minutes, with Bethel's offense taking two shots to Georgetown's one. 

Addi Jones scored the first goal of the second (9:41) to reclaim a lead for Bethel (3-2). 

The intensity picked up mid-quarter with Georgetown scoring at 7:35 and Bethel retaliating with another goal in under a minute (6:54). Bethel led the scoreboard 4-3. 

The Tigers scored three consecutive goals at the end of the second, as Bethel trailed 7-5 at the end of the half. 

To open up the third quarter, Addi Jones scored at 13:30 to decrease the point deficit (7-6). 

Georgetown scored three additional goals in the quarter to put the Tigers up 10-6 at the conclusion of the third. 

In the final quarter, the Pilots' defense continued to struggle, recording four turnovers in the first half. 

Serenity Kretschmer posted the final goal for Bethel at 1:57, assisted by Isabell Gerbrand

Bethel ended the game with a 13-7 loss to Georgetown. 

The Pilots will next face Saint Ambrose University in the Jack and Pat Bush Stadium on March 8 at 2:00 p.m.
