Box Score FORT WAYNE, Ind. --The Bethel Pilots (11-11, 5-5) fell to the Indiana Tech Warriors (10-9, 9-2) in three sets on Tuesday night in the Schaefer Center.
Thomas Dunkley led the team in kills (11) and recorded five digs.
Pablo Tello led the team in digs (nine) and recorded ten kills.
McGwire Eigenrauch totaled 3 blocks and fourteen assists.
In the opening set,
Thomas Dunkley put the first kill on the board for the Pilots (1-1).
Uros Miloradovic posted a kill off of a set by
Maik Herbst as the Pilots led 4-3.
Following Indiana Tech's timeout, Bethel maintained a small lead over the Warriors until Indiana Tech served an ace to tie the score 17-17.
Santana Roybal-Benson scored the last kill of the set (23-24), but Indiana Tech claimed the first set 25-23 with a kill in response.
The Pilots posted an impressive string of three earned points to open up the second set.
Uros Miloradovic scored the first kill, and
Maik Herbst aced a Warrior to bring the score to 2-0.
Santana Roybal-Benson showcased another kill to conclude the run.
Indiana Tech posted a four-point run in the middle of the set, ending with three Pilot attacking errors, that would yield the lead to Indiana Tech for the remainder of the set. The Pilots soon dropped the second set 25-19.
In the final set,
Maik Herbst recorded another ace early on to further Bethel's lead (3-1).
The teams were evenly matched, as
Santana Roybal-Benson scored on a kill to tie the board 10-10.
The Warriors once again showcased a run (three points) that would prevent Bethel from regaining a lead. Bethel lost the final set 25-19.
The Pilots move on to face Siena Heights in the Goodman Gymnasium on Friday, March 28 at 7:00 p.m.
