CEDARVILLE, Ohio --- The Bethel Pilots finished fifth in the team standings after day two of the NCCAA Indoor Track and Field National Championship, with Lamarr Williams taking home two event National Championships and Joey Rutten becoming the National Champion in the Pole Vault.
Lamarr Williams is the NCCAA National Champion in the 60-meter with a 6.84 and won by 0.01 seconds, and the 200-meter with a 22.29 and earned All-American status in both events.
Joey Rutten became the NCCAA National Champion in the Pole Vault with a 4.55-meter mark and earned NCCAA All-American status. Trevor Smith also became an All-American after taking third with a 4.10-meter mark.
Brennen Bargesser earned All-American status with his runner-up finish in the 200-meter with a 22.45.
The 4x400 Relay team of Lucas Linder, Landon Herbert, Phillip Harris, and Kane McCory took fifth with a 3:33.05.
Christopher Kourthuis placed third overall in the Heptathlon after finishing the final three events. Kourthuis finished second in the 60-hurdles with a 9.40, first in the Pole Vault with a 3.90-meter mark, and fifth in the 1,000-meter run with a 3:03.92.
The Pilots prepare for the Crossroads League Indoor Track and Field Championship in Upland, Ind. from Friday, Feb. 14 to Saturday, Feb. 15.
