Box Score FORT WAYNE, Ind. ---The Bethel Pilots (7-3, 1-2) fell 62-46 to the No. 6 University of Saint Francis Cougars (10-1, 3-1) on Saturday at the Hutzell Athletic Center.
Isabel Scales led the Bethel offense with 13 points, shooting fifty percent from the field (4-8).
Justyce Williams recorded eight points alongside four rebounds (1-3).
Luvrain Gaskins posted a season high for steals (two), and also led the team in total boards with six (2-4).
The first and third quarters of the Crossroads League matchup proved competitive, with the Pilots trailing by a small margin of three in each of those quarters (11-8, 14-11).
Hannah Ruddle totaled 19 minutes in her first game back from injury. She shared, "I felt as though for most of the game I was proud of how we kept ourselves in it and competed with one of the best teams in the conference, but in the end we couldn't get enough going on the offensive end. I am looking forward to playing them again next semester, hopefully with a healthy roster, and am sure that we as a team will not give up and take today as a loss but as a learning opportunity."
The Bethel Pilots wil look for their next win on Thursday, Dec. 11, when they will face off against the IUSB Titans. Tip-off is set for 7 PM at the Student Activities Center.
