MARION, Ind. ---
Anna Enderle of the Bethel Women's Cross Country Team placed 15th out of 121 athletes at the Crossroads League Championship on Friday at the Indiana Wesleyan Cross Country Course.
The junior received All-League Honors for her 6k time of 22:28, a new personal record. With this performance, Enderle now holds the second fastest 6k time in Bethel history.
Enderle is also expected to receive a bid to the NAIA National Championship, which will be announced early next week. This season alone, Enderle has received NCCAA Runner of the Week recognition, as well as Crossroads League Runner of the Week recognition (Sept. 8-14).
Overall, the women placed tenth out of ten teams with a score of 280, behind Goshen College (222).
Lauren Edison and Jenna Fairchild braved their first cross country race and showed true grit, representing Bethel well.
Emma Maxwell competed in her first race of the season,
Taylor Horner made a valiant effort to return from injury to assist her team, and Addie Rainsberger battled throughout the race.
Head Coach Ryan Sommers shared, "Extremely proud of how the team performed today. The ladies showed guts today, battling with honor. The group has overcome a lot this season. Anna ran a very tough race in an extremely competitive league to earn All-League honors after narrowly missing out last year."
Enderle shared, "Today was truly a gift from God and none of this would have been possible without him. When we put our trust in Him, he did not fail. What a blessing it was to run this with the best teammates."
