ELKHART, Ind. --- The Bethel Pilots (4-4) defeated the Alma College Scots (138-85) and the University of Olivet Comets (161-16) on Saturday afternoon at Elkhart Health and Aquatics, while falling to KCAC Opponent Aquinas College (148-90).
Freshman
Jorge Souto Vilas won the 50 Free (21.38), crushing the NAIA B Cut mark (21.72) to qualify for nationals. Vilas also posted a Runner-Up finish in the 200 Back (1:59.28)
Senior
Zach Anguish took first in both the 1650 Yard Freestyle (16:31.98) and the 500 Free (5:51.78).
Freshman
Nico Stuber recorded a Runner-Up Finish in the 500 Free (4:59.53) and also placed third in the 100 Fly (53.17), narrowly missing an NAIA B Cut Mark (52.19).
Freshman Pablo Mira Marquz won the 200 Breast with a time of 2:14.84.
Maurer continued, "Incredible performances from all Pilots across the board. Concluding week nine of training, we are starting to swim really fast just before our mid-season championship coming up. Truly an exciting time to be a Pilot."
Bethel will next compete against NCAA Division II Malone University from Nov. 20 through Nov. 22 at the CT Branin Natatorium at 10 AM.
