Box Score FORT WAYNE, Ind. ---The Bethel Pilots (8-1-2, 2-0-1) defeated the University of Saint Francis Cougars (3-8-1, 1-2) 3-1 on Wednesday evening at Bishop John M. D'Arcy Stadium.
The win follows the NAIA announcement that the Bethel Pilots are ranked fifth in the country. Additionally, the Pilots were ranked first in the National Christian College Athletic Association's Coaches Poll on Tuesday, above NCAA Division II Cedarville University.
Julian Vargas Talamantes posted the first goal of the match (his sixth of the season) in the eighth minute.
Lucas Lima hit the back of the net in the 52nd minute of the Crossroads League matchup.
Dani Suarez scored the final goal in the 71st minute, assisted by
Tomas Franco. Franco now holds two assists in the 2025 Season.
Maarten Schouten played all 90 minutes, totaling three saves in the first half and three in the second.
The Bethel Pilots will next compete against the Goshen College Maple Leafs on Saturday, Oct. 4. Kickoff is set for 2 PM at the Goshen College Soccer Complex.
