SPRING ARBOR, Mich. --- After a silent first half for the NAIA third-ranked Bethel Pilots (8-0-2, 1-0-0) the Spring Arbor Cougars (6-4-0, 0-1-0) fall 3-2 thanks to three Pilot goals in the second half.
The Cougars found the net first in the 18th minute from Sahel Yessen, then Jack Voight in the 24th minute and silenced the Pilots in the first half despite
Julian Vargas Talamantes' shot that was blocked in the 30th minute and
Manuel Garcia missed high in the 39th minute going into the half.
Sami Charaf Amal broke the silence in the 67th minute with
Andres Gonzalez Maza's assistance, and then
Gabe Nyenka tied the match in the 85th minute with time running out for the Pilots.
Piero Sabroso netted goal number 10 on the season for him from a double assist by Nyenka and Vargas Talamantes in the 87th minute to give the Pilots a win in the Crossroads League opener in an exciting fashion.
The Pilots face the Huntington Foresters for the next match of the Crossroads League season on Saturday, Sept. 28 with kickoff scheduled for 5 p.m. at Morey Field.
