MARION, Ind. ---The university's track and field team delivered an impressive performance at the NAIA Outdoor Track and Field Championship, highlighted by strong individual achievements. Both
Cailyn Helmuth and
Alecia Parker earned the prestigious title of NAIA All-American. At the end of the third and last day of the Championship, Bethel University placed 39th.Â
PILOT FINISHES
-Cailyn Helmuth excelled in the Women's Outdoor Heptathlon, securing 6th place overall with a total of 4821 points, including notable finishes in the 100m hurdles (4th place, 14.81 seconds), high jump (6th place, 1.61 meters), shot put (2nd place, 11.70 meters), and 200m (7th place, 26.03 seconds).Â
-Alecia Parker showcased her strength in the Women's Shot Put, placing 7th with a mark of 14.04 meters on her sixth attempt.
-In the Women's Pole Vault, Gabrielle Zeilenga finished 10th with a height of 3.70 meters, Grace Conway placed 15th with 3.60 meters, and Sophia Sumer was 23rd with 3,40 meters.
-Zeilenga also competed in the Women's Long Jump, achieving 20th place with a jump of 5.47 meters.
-The Women's 4x100m relay team (Natalie Gonzalez, Brianna Hooton, Kilynn Guiler, Riley Hershberger) finished 20th with a time of 47.55 seconds.Â
-Riley Hershberger was 19th in the 200m (24.40 seconds).
-Rylin Bagarus places 20th in the 100m hurdles (14.88 seconds).
-In the Men's High Jump, Shane Glasco finished 17th with a height of 2.02 meters.
As the outdoor season concludes, the team reflects on remarkable achievements: 238 personal bests, 94 season bests, 13 NCCAA All-Americans, 5 NCCAA National Champions, 2 NAIA All-Americans, and 2 new school records. The University's track and field team had had a standout season, marked by significant personal and team accomplishments.
