Game Recap: Women's Lacrosse |

Women's Lacrosse wins their first ever game over Aquinas on senior night

MISHAWKA, Ind. --- The Bethel Pilots (8-6, 4-3) defeated the Aquinas Saints (2-9, 2-3) on senior night, which keeps the Pilots tied with Concordia (Mich.) in fourth place and fighting for a host bid for the WHAC Quarterfinal.

It was a heavy-hitting first quarter, with the Saints striking first at 11:59, then at 7:11 to take a 2-0 lead; the Pilots' Brea Larrison answered at 6:38, followed by Callie Brondyke to tie the game 2-2. Both sides would go back and forth, with Larrison scoring, tying the game at 4-4 with nine seconds left in the quarter.

After Aquinas' fifth goal at 12:05 in the second, Bethel went on a 5-0 run to grow their lead to 9-5. The Saints climbed back in the fourth to bring the game to 14-10 and scored again at 9:37 in the fourth quarter, but Lydia Andrews netted one last goal at 2:31 left in regulation to secure the victory 15-11.

Brea Larrison scored six goals, which tied her with Becca Broadwick, Kara Holmes, and Alyssa Lundy for the most goals in a single game.

Today's win is the first over Aquinas in program history, and the Pilots scored the most goals in the series. Bethel allowed double-digit goals in every meeting with Aquinas in the series history.
