MISHAWAKA, Ind. --- The Bethel Baseball squad (9-25, 4-20) was defeated at home vs. Taylor University (27-11, 20-4) 14-4 and 10-4 Saturday afternoon.
GAME 1
The Pilots started hot, with Corbin Greenslade batting in Jesse Stout and Cooper Tolson to go up 2-0 vs. the Trojans.
Bethel added two more runs in the second as Dominic Deisler flew out to center, but Tolson made it home.
Greenslade reached first from an error, which let Stout score the fourth run for the Pilots.
Taylor then scored 11 runs in the 8th inning to close the game 14-4.
Ty Mickiewicz had five hits, five strikeouts, and four walks on 93 pitches.
GAME 2
Bethels' first run came in the first as Greenslade grounded out but brought home Tolson.
Ta'Shaun Coleman hit his first homerun of his college career in the second to give TU a 6-2 lead.
Deisler flew out, and Tolson scored again in the 6th, followed by a single from Seth Ambrose, which brought Dolan home.
TU added two more runs in the 7th to take a 10-4 victory in game two of Saturday's games.
Riley Thomas had six walks and three hits on 65 pitches.
NEXT TIME OUT
The Pilots will be traveling to Indianapolis, Ind. on April 12th and 13th to take on Marian University. 1:00 p.m. is the time scheduled for the first pitch on both days.
