KOKOMO, Ind. --- The Bethel Baseball squad (9-23, 4-18) lost to Taylor University (25-11, 18-4) in the first two games of the Trojans' series Friday afternoon.
GAME 1
The Pilots matched the Trojan's first run with a Thomas Dolan single RBI, which brought home Cooper Tolson home.
Bethel scored their second run in the 5th when Andrew Dillon got thrown out at second, but Jordan Landkrohn stole home to make it a 7-2 game.
The third run for the Pilots came in the 9th, with Tolson grounding out, but Jesse Stout was able to make it home to make the final score 9-3.
Frank Plesac pitched five innings with 13 hits, two walks, and three strikeouts on 80 pitches.
GAME 2
Taylor scored first in the 1st, off a sacrifice fly to Dolan, and the Trojans then put up five runs in the second (6-0).
No runs came in after the second inning, as both teams played good defense for the remainder of the game.
Ta'Shaun Coleman and Jesse Stout were the only Pilots to record a hit.
Brad VanOverberghe had seven hits, three strikeouts, and five walks on 83 pitches.
NEXT TIME OUT
The Pilots will be at home as they take on Taylor University on April 6th. The first pitch is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. for games three and four.
