GOSHEN, Ind. --- The Bethel Pilots (8-11, 3-9) were defeated by Goshen College (18-4, 9-3) in game one of the US Highway 20 Cup.
The Pilots had a 4-2 lead in the first but Goshen found their rhythm and took a 16-10 lead over the Pilots. A 7-0 run from Goshen gave them the first-set win.
The second set was tied 9-9 when Goshen went on a 9-0 run and closed the second out with a 25-17 win.
Bethel earned a 9-7 lead in the third with two service aces from Andre Parra. A back-and-forth fourth set had Bethel down by two, but Goshen closed it out with two kills (25-21).
Arthur Barreto led the team in kills with nine on the night.
McGwire Eigenrauch recorded ten assists.

The Pilots will travel to Goshen, Ind., to compete against Goshen College in game two of the US Highway 20 Cup on April 2nd at 7:00 p.m.
