MISHAWAKA, Ind. --- The Bethel Pilots (7-11, 2-9) fell to #14 Indiana Tech (18-4, 9-3) in Goodman Gymnasium 3-0 Tuesday evening.
Indiana Tech grabbed a slow and steady lead in the first set, but Bethel was only a couple of points behind until an IT run made it 18-12.
Kills from Tiago Silva and Afonso Matias helped push the Pilots to a late set run but fell short as IT won 25-21.
Bethel had an 8-7 lead in the second but was taken from them soon after. Bethel made it close at the end with a kill from Andrin Broder to make it 23-22, but IT snatched the final two points to win the second set.
Similar to the first two sets, IT maintained a steady lead and closed the Pilots out 3-0 in Goodman.
Andrin Broder led the team with ten kills.
Ege Gul recorded 13 assists, and McGwire Eigenrauch recorded 11.
NEXT TIME OUT
The Pilots will travel to Goshen, Ind., to compete against Goshen College in game one of the US Highway 20 Cup on Mar. 28 at 7:00 p.m.
