Baseball drops games one and two vs. Foresters

HUNTINGTON, Ind. --- The Bethel Baseball squad (8-16, 3-11) drops games one (8-5) and two (2-1) Friday afternoon vs. the Huntington Foresters (14-11, 9-5).
 

GAME 1

Huntington scored continuously throughout the innings to be up 8-0 going into the 9th inning.

Bethel had a fantastic top of the 9th as Thomas Dolan singled to bring in a run.

With no outs, Corbin Greenslade hits a double down the left field line, which brought in Dolan and Jesse Stout.

Ta'Shaun Coleman doubled soon after to right field, which brought in Greenslade.

To finish Bethel's hot inning of scoring, Cooper Tolson singled to center field to have Coleman reach home, which brought the score to an 8-5 game.

Jordan Landkrohn then hit to shortstop, and Tolson got out at second, which was the third out and final of game one.

Cooper Tolson had two hits at four at-bats and one RBI.

Corbin Greenslade recorded two RBIs, one hit, and one run scored.

Ta'Shaun Coleman stated two hits, one RBI, and one run scored.

Frank Plesac pitched for seven innings with four strikeouts, two walks, off ten hits, and seven runs.
 
GAME 2

Scoring didn't happen until the top of the 5th when Elijah Gaines was hit by a pitch, sending him to first. After two wild pitches, he found himself on third.

Gaines then reached home on an error and scored for the Pilots.

The Foresters grabbed two runs in the bottom of the 6th, and the Pilots could not score in the top of the 7th, resulting in a 2-1 Huntington victory.

Tolson, Landkrohn, Dominic Deisler, and Dolan all recorded one hit.

Brad Vanoverberghe pitched six innings with two hits, runs, walks, and strikeouts.
 

NEXT TIME OUT
The Pilots will stay in Huntington, Ind., to play games three and four vs. the Foresters on Mar. 23., at 1 p.m. and 4:00 p.m.
