ADRIAN, Mich. --- On a cold Monday afternoon, the Bethel Pilots (4-3) took charge and defeated the Adrian Bulldogs (3-3) by an 11-6 final score to put the Pilots back in the win column and above .500.
Junior Addi Jones shot a team-leading three goals, including the Pilots sixth goal at 14:12 and 7:13 in the second quarter and at 13:45 in the fourth.
Fellow junior and Mission, British Columbia native Isabell Gerbrand scored two goals and a team-leading three assists. Gerbrand is second in the NAIA in goals with 26 under Indiana Tech's Faith Donally and third in the nation with 29 points under Indiana Tech's Donally (1st) and Michelle Farrell.
Senior Samantha Swope (3-3) had 11 saves in her win over the Bulldogs and is now ranked second in the NAIA in goals-against-average with 9.65 under Lawrence Tech's Anabelle Acluche.
Senior Lydia Andrews led the team with six ground balls and also had two assists and an unassisted goal late in the fourth quarter.
After the win over Adrian (Mich.), the Pilots led the nation in shots on goal (79.9) and shooting percentage (49.7). They are among the top-10 teams in many statistical categories as they prepare for the WHAC opener on the road against the Concordia Cardinals (Mich.) on Thursday, Mar. 21, at 3 p.m. in Ann Arbor, Mich.
