ANN ARBOR, Mich. --- The Bethel Women's Lacrosse team (4-4, 0-1) drops first WHAC game vs. Concordia University (Mich.) (4-4, 1-1) 9-7 Thursday afternoon.
Concordia opened the game with three unanswered goals in the first quarter.
Callie Brondyke and
Isabell Gerbrand each scored once in the second quarter which brought the score to 4-2 at halftime.
During the third quarter, the Cardinals scored three more goals and put them up 7-2 heading into the last 15 minutes of play.
The Pilots offense went off in the fourth as Gerbrand grabbed another goal,
Lydia Andrews added one at 13:04, and
Brea Larrison had a hat trick with goals at 12:08, 9:39, and 7:12.
Concordia and Bethel were tied at 7 apiece but the Cardinals found the back of the net before the Pilots with two minutes to go.
To close out the game, Concordia found a very late goal at 0:07 to go up 9-7 to end the WHAC matchup.
Brea Larrison led the Pilots with three goals and had 10 shots on goal.
Isabell Gerbrand had two goals, three draw controls, and two ground balls.
Samantha Swope recorded nine saves and eight ground balls.

The Pilots will travel to Rochester Hills, Mich. to take on Rochester University on Mar. 22 with game time at 1:00 p.m.
