Box Score MISHAWAKA, Ind. --- The Bethel Pilots (3-0) defeated Culver-Stockton Wildcats (1-5) 3-1 in Gates Friday night in the first game of the Adidas Game-One Pilot Invitational.
The Pilots failed to grab the first set of the match as Culver-Stockton won a 25-22 set. Bethel had a small lead in the middle of the set, but Culver had a strong 12-4 run to boost their offense which gave them a 1-0 lead.
Bethel bounced back in set two, three, and four, as they won all three. In the fourth set, there was a bit of overtime as the Pilots came back from a 23-21 lead by Culver and won 26-24.
Arthur Barreto led the team in kills with 20 and tacked on two assists and three digs.
Ege Gul recorded 24 assists with
McGwire Eigenrauch just behind him with 22.
NEXT TIME OUT
Bethel will play two more games in the first-annual Adidas Game-One Pilot Invitational on Saturday, Feb. 10 at 12:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. on Court one in Gates against Roosevelt University and Judson University.
