ANGOLA, Ind. --- The Bethel Women's Lacrosse squad (2-1) dropped their first game of the year to Trine University (1-0) 14-9 Saturday afternoon.
Bethel started slow at the beginning of the matchup, as Trine scored three times in the first quarter.
Both teams scored four goals in the second quarter, with two from Isabell Gerbrand and one from Mackenzie Holland and Lydia Andrews.
Trine continued to put pressure on the Pilots as they outscored them in the second half (7-5), with the game's final score being 14-9.
Samantha Swope had nine saves in the match, with a save percentage of .563.
Gerbrand led with four goals, and Brea Larrison scored twice in the contest.

The Pilots will travel to Albion, Mich., to take on Albion College on Feb. 28 at 6:00 p.m.
