Caroline Morris hits double-double in senior night loss to Spring Arbor

MISHAWAKA, Ind. --- The Bethel Women's Basketball squad (6-21, 1-16) fell to Spring Arbor University (15-8, 8-6) 74-52 on Senior Night in Gates.

Bethel couldn't hold off the Cougars as they fell 74-52 on Senior Night. Senior Nyla Asad led with 16 points, two assists, and a steal.

Caroline Morris earned a double-double with 11 points and a career-high 12 rebounds in the contest.

The offense started slow for the Pilots as they went down 15-4 in the first eight minutes of the first quarter. In the second, Alaysia Stewart, who had four points in her final game in the Gates Gymnasium, knocked down a jumper to bring the deficit down to nine points, 31-22.

Bethel was able to close the gap to Spring Arbor early in the third quarter by nine, but the Cougars kept pushing as they took back a 10-point lead and didn't let up that differential the remainder of the match.

Spring Arbor only made two more points in the paint to Bethel (28-26), but Spring Arbor made 29 points off Bethel's 20 turnovers, and Bethel scored nine points off the Cougars' 12 turnovers.
