MOUNT VERNON, Ohio --- The Bethel Pilots Men's Volleyball team (6-1, 0-1) dropped their first match of the season 3-1 on the road in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference season opener.
The Pilots had their lowest team-hitting percentage of the season at .095 versus the Cougars, who hit .216.
Arthur Barreto ended the night with 12 kills and four errors at a .276 clip with four block assists. Andre Parra had 11 kills but hit at a .074 clip with nine errors, but it was still the second-most kills for the Pilots. McGwire Eigenrauch had 25 assists and two block assists, and Andrin Broder had seven digs.

The Pilots stay one more night in Mount Vernon to play the Cougars at 6 p.m. in Ariel Arena for the second WHAC matchup of the conference season.
