Seniors led the Men's Soccer team to a Senior Night victory over the Taylor Trojans

MISHAWAKA, Ind. --- In an exciting match at Morey Field, Bethel showcased a high-powered offense in a 4-1 victory over Taylor (5-7-3, 1-5-2) on Senior Night.

Tonight was a memorable Senior Night for the Bethel Pilots, celebrating the contributions and dedication of their senior players as they took on Taylor. The honored seniors included #3 Julian Vargas Talamantes, #3 Pedro Lonrencatto, #4 Julius Brown, #5 Andres Lucumi, #6 Jelle Born, #7 Sami Charaf Amal, #9 Piero Sabroso, #10 Andres Gonzalez Maza, #14 Abdon Ortiz, #17 Thiago Dos Santos, #18 Jovaunn Ramos, #19 Jona Toussaint, #22 Miguel Martins, #25 Samuel Thomas, #27 Isaac Hernandez, and #28 Gabe Neynga.

The Trojans struck early with a goal in the 2nd minute, as Justin Devlin found the back of the net off an assist from Jeremy Rivera. However, Bethel quickly regrouped and leveled the score in the 16th minute when Piero Sabroso scored, assisted by Miki Fujita.

Bethel took control as Jona Toussaint delivered a great free-kick goal in the 25th minute, bringing the score to 2-1. The Pilots then secured their win in the second half with two more goals: Sami Charaf Amal scored in the 51st minute with an assist from Andres Gonzalez Maza, and shortly after, Jovaunn Ramos capitalized on an assist from Charaf Amal in the 52nd minute, solidifying a commanding 4-1 lead.

Bethel's goalkeeper, Benjamin Venegas, also had a notable performance, making key saves to keep Taylor at bay in the second half. With this win, Bethel's record improves to 11-4-2, and they are now 4-4-0 in conference play.

With this win, Bethel holds a 4-4 conference record,  and 11-4-2 overall. They are currently ranked 5th in the league with 12 points. The Pilots are set to carry this momentum into their next game, aiming to improve their conference standing as the season nears its close. 

Each senior contributed to the Pilots' successful season and their impressive 4-1 win tonight, making this celebration all the more special. Bethel fans and teammates showed appreciation for their hard work and commitment as they celebrated them in a ceremony previous to the initial whistle.

Looking ahead, Bethel will return to Morey Field on October 30 for another key matchup against Grace College at 7:00 PM.
