MISHAWKA, Ind. --- The NAIA 7th ranked Bethel Men's Soccer team (7-2-1) started off the Crossroads League season with a 2-0 win over the Spring Arbor Cougars (5-2-3) on Alumni Day Saturday.
Julian Vargas Talamantes broke the silence with a goal assisted by Thiago dos Santos in the 33rd minute while crashing the box on a smooth shot to take the lead 1-0.
In the 61st minute, the Pilots struck again with Andres Gonzales Maza connected with Sodai Koketsu, who was crashing from the left side of the box and found the back of the net and a 2-0 lead.
The Pilots are now 14-10-1 in the overall series, extend a five-game winning streak over the Cougars, and are 9-6-0 at Morey Field.
