HOWELL, Mich. --- The Bethel Pilots Women's Soccer team (3-0-0) defeated the Cleary Cougars 4-1 in a heavily offensive match for the Pilots.
Sophomore midfielder Leena Thomas scored her second career goal in the 20th minute with an assist by Freshman Onalee Gustafson, her second of the season.
Sophomore midfielder Giulia Franco scored her first goal of the season and gave the Pilots their second goal of the first half off an assist by Aubrey Vervynckt in the 25th minute.
In the 54th minute, Thomas scored her third goal of the season off an assist by Audrey Lerch and grew the lead to 3-0. Lerch also assisted Aubrey Vervinckt in the 63rd minute to go ahead 4-0.
Cleary fought back in the 85th minute by a goal from Emma Nobels, but it was not enough as the Pilots won their third straight match.
Bethel dominated possession and outshot the Cougars 19-9 but put 11 shots on net.
