Box Score 2 Mishawaka, Ind. --- The Bethel Pilots (16-24, 9-19) split games today vs. the Marian Knights (14-22, 8-16) on a beautiful Saturday afternoon on Patterson Field.
GAME 1
Marian stepped up first with a JJ Rivera home run in the top of the first.
Bethel matched that run in the bottom of the first when Jeremey Wiersema singled, stole second, then stole third, and went home off a throwing error to tie the game 1-1.
Eli MacDonald had a single RBI that brought in Thomas Dolan in the bottom of the third, but Rivera hit another homerun late in the sixth to tie the game 2-2.
The Pilots struck gold in the bottom of the eighth when Dominic Deisler had a three-run homer that brought in Andrew Miranda and Dolan to increase their lead to 7-2.
Marian could grab one more run late in the ninth before Estep flew out to Silas Kaser to end the game 7-3.
Ty Mickiewic pitched a full nine innings vs. the Knights and gave up three hits, seven runs, six strikeouts, and two home runs on 104 pitches.
GAME 2
Bethel could not complete the four-game sweep as they went down 5-0 through four innings.
Late in the fourth, Alex Stout drilled a ball over the fence for a homer of his own, putting the Pilots on the board halfway through the game (5-1).
Marian grabbed a run in the top of the fifth and sixth to extend their lead to 7-1.
The Pilots had some momentum late in the game as Jordan Landkrohn singled, then stole second. Dolan was hit by the pitch, and soon after, Jeremy Wiersma had a single RBI that brought in Nicholas Cox.
Corbin Greenslade reached on the fielder's choice, which caused an out at second but brought Dolan to score (8-3).
Andrew Gerber threw for four innings with eight hits on six runs and three strikeouts on 85 pitches.

- Depending on other national games, Jeremy Wiersema is now tied in first with 36 steals in the NAIA.
NEXT TIME OUT
The Pilots will be at home for a four-game stretch against Spring Arbor University, with the first two games on April 21, starting at 1:00 p.m.
