Esports nearly perfect in last weeks play

Mishawaka, Ind. --- The Bethel University Esports teams flourished last week as Overwatch remains undefeated as they went 3-0, Rocket League won two, Super Smash Bros. went 4-0, League of Legends lost two, and Valorant won with a forfeit vs. Illinois Wesleyan.

Overwatch defeated Ohio Northern 3-0 on Tuesday, Marion Tech 3-0 on Wednesday, and Alabama Huntsville 3-0 on Thursday.

"Overwatch remains undefeated and stays in first place in the GLEC conference with victories over Ohio Northern and Marion Tech." said Head Coach Dan Wort. "We also got a much-needed win over UAH in the NECC to improve to 3-1."

Rocket League Beat Indiana Tech 3-0 on Friday and Manchester 3-2 on Saturday (reverse sweep).

Senior Cannon Harris passes career milestone of 50 hat tricks against Indiana Tech.

"It was a big week for Rocket League beating the #2 Indiana Tech on Friday." Said assistant coach Mason Fish. "The team shutout IIT for two straight games. While they couldn't finish the perfect sweep (shutting out an opponent in all games), they looked dominant throughout the whole series. None the less, the Pilots remain the #1 seed in the NECC. On Saturday, the Pilots pulled out the first reverse sweep in Bethel RL history and took down Manchester. Over the past 3 years, all four Rocket League games against Manchester have gone to game five, and with this win, the Pilots remain in the hunt for GLEC playoffs."

JV Rocket League Beat SW Assembly of God 4-0 on Wednesday, Lost to Defiance 3-2 on Thursday, and Beat Hocking College 3-1 on Friday.

Sophomore Ian Hulett showed up big on Friday night vs. Hocking with 10 goals, two hat tricks, five assists, 83% goal participation, and one of the best goals hit this season.

Dan Wort said, "We had mixed results for JV rocket league as the team confidently took down SAGU on Wednesday and are now 3-3 in ECAC. In the NECC, the Pilots went 2-1 this week. The Pilots were reverse swept in a tough loss against Defiance but bounced back in a dominant win against Hocking. The team is still working out the incorporation of Sophomore Ian Hulett into the roster, but coach Mason Fish has a lot of confidence we'll be able to resolve in these coming playoffs."

Super Smash Bros. Beat Fanshaw College 2-1, Defiance 2-0, and Saint Francis 2-1, and lost to Manchester 0-2.

JV Super smash Bros. beat Saint Johns 2-0 on Monday and Defiance 2-0 on Wednesday. Sophomore John Samarich went 3-0 with seven KO's in the win over Saint Johns.

League of Legends lost to Tiffin 2-0 on Wednesday and lost to Embry Riddle 0-2 on Thursday.

Valorant won in a forfeit watch over Illinois Wesleyan last Monday.
