Box Score Mishawaka, Ind. --- The Bethel University Men's Volleyball team (2-5) swept Trinity International University (25-9, 25-8, 25-17), snapping a four-game losing streak and earning their first home victory in program history.
Behind a loud and rowdy home crowd in historic Goodman Gymnasium, the Pilots had an outstanding opening set as they went on multiple runs and finished the set in just 14 minutes with an 11-1 run.
The second set was similar to the first, as
Mustafa Yildiz and
Marcos Henrike took charge each getting multiple kills in the set.
TIU was able to get some offense rolling in the third set as they scored 17 points against the Pilots, but Bethel continued to dominate in the third set, running away for the sweep.
Egu Gul led the Pilots in kills with nine while also having one assist and an ace.
Meric Akovali had six digs during the game with
Miguel Rodrigues right behind him with three.
Meric Akovali also led BU in assists with 25.
