MISHAWAKA, Ind. --- The Bethel Pilots Women's Basketball team broke a five-game losing streak with a 59-45 victory over the Cleary Cougars on Monday night.
The night started with a couple-minute gridlock, with Cleary scoring the first buckets at 8:13 in the first quarter on two free throws. Nyla Asad answered with a deep ball in the next possession to give the Pilots their first lead at 7:58.
Bethel jumped to an 11-point lead at 1:31 in the first, with Maiah Shelton draining a three at 18-7. Shelton hit another deep ball at 4:54 in the second quarter to peak their first-half lead at 15 and went into halftime up 36-25.
The second half was dominated by Bethel, and maintained a solid double-digit lead throughout. Cleary was held to only four points in the third quarter, and the Pilots would win 59-45 for their first win in December.

- Of the Pilot's three wins, tonight was the least amount of points scored, resulting in a win.

The Pilots hit the road to Elgin, Ill., to take on the Judson Eagles for a non-conference matchup on Wednesday, Dec. 13, at 6 p.m. in their three-game road stretch to ring in the new year.
