Box Score UPLAND, Ind. --- The Bethel Pilots Women's Soccer team (9-7-1, 4-5-0) faced NAIA 25th-ranked Taylor University (10-4-4, 5-2-2) on the road in the Crossroads League Quarterfinals Saturday night and upset the Trojans 5-3 in OT Penalty kicks.
The Pilots scored early in the match with a goal from Autumn Beaudoin, which Giulia Franco assisted in the ninth minute.
The Trojans came out after halftime and found a quick unassisted goal by Audrey Grimm to tie the match at 1-1. That score would remain the same until the end of regulation.
Taylor outshot Bethel 34-6 in the contest and had five more corners than the Pilots (10-5).
Jael Schubert had an outstanding game with 13 saves, four coming from OT.
The game went to two 10-minute overtime periods and ended scoreless, which meant penalty kicks to determine the winner.
Megan Keibler was put into the match as the active goalie during the penalty kicks. She recorded one save out of four shots in the shootout.
