KISSIMMEE, Fl. --- The Pilots earn two points toward their Pool A standings after defeating the Mid-America Christian Evangels 1-0 on Monday's opener of the NCCAA National Championship.
Giulia Franco netted the first goal for the Pilots in the 53rd minute off a deep pass by Karly Harfouche into the box, caught Franco on the run, and scored.
Bethel led in shooting 11-7 but put three on the net and kept MACU to two. Franco and Audrey Lerch fired three shots and two on goal in the winning effort.
Jael Schubert recorded her third clean sheet of the season after two saves against the Evangels.
NEXT TIME OUT
The Pilots take on Redeemer University out of Canada for the final game of Pool A on Tuesday, Nov. 28 at 1 p.m. The winner of Pool A and B will face off for the NCCAA National Championship on Friday, Dec. 1 at 6 p.m.
