MISHAWAKA, Ind. --- After the first snowfall of the year, the Bethel Pilots lost in a low-scoring affair to the Saint Francis (Ill.) 67-57 in the Gates Gymnasium.
The Pilots started the game with a 9-2 run, scoring by committee, but three straight turnovers helped the Fighting Saints tie the game 11-11 at 3:21 in the first quarter and fell behind in the final two possessions by allowing two consecutive layups.
The Pilots battled back, with Nyla Asad laying one off the glass, then Alaysia Stewart draining a deep ball to get behind by one point, 19-18.
The Fighting Saints gained their most significant lead of the first half, nine points, after an 8-0 run 28-19, then keep a 32-23 lead going into halftime.
In the fourth quarter, Nyla Asad drained a mid-range jumper to get the Pilots within four points at 3:29 but would ultimately fall 67-57 for their first loss at home this season.

- Bethel turned the ball over 25 times versus Saint Francis' 17.
- Maiah Shelton set a season high of 16 points and eight rebounds.
- The pilots took advantage of nine second-chance points on 14 offensive rebounds.
