MISHAWAKA, Ind. --- The #17 Women's Volleyball team (23-5, 11-5) was defeated by RV Marian University (18-8, 12-4) 3-1 in Gates Gymnasium.
The first set contained multiple long runs as Marian found an 8-0 run early, but Bethel stayed active as they closed the set out with an 11-3 for the first set victory.
The Pilots had a 12-5 lead in the second set, but Marian chipped away at their lead and caught them at 21-21. The Knights grabbed the last four points and tied the match 1-1.
In the third set, Bethel also had a solid lead of 18-13, but again, the Knights kept battling and ended the set with a 9-2 run to go up on the Pilots 2-1.
Marian controlled the fourth set as Bethel found their way back late. The Pilots brought it to 22-20 with Marian up but failed to win the set 26-24, which gave Marian a 3-1 win over Bethel.

The Pilots will hit the road and travel to Huntington, Ind, to face Huntington University on Oct. 27 at 7:00 p.m.
