Winona Lake, Ind. --- The Bethel University Women's Basketball team (4-13, 0-8) fell to the RV Grace Lancers (13-5, 6-2) by a score of 84-56 on Wednesday night inside the Manahan OCC. Bethel trailed early, allowing a 7-2 run with sophomore
Maiah Shelton scoring on a jumper at 7:36 in the first quarter.
Nyla Asad would break up another Lancer 15-6 run with a jumper at 2:58, but the only other point scored in the first quarter was a freethrow by sophomore guard
Addi Jones.
The Pilots would chop down the Lancer lead with a fastbreak bucket by Claywell to make it 30-21 at 2:23 in the second quarter but fell behind by 14 at the intermission, 39-25.
Ellia Foster would score eight points in the third quarter, including two three-pointers but Grace continued to pull away in the second half as the Pilots struggled shooting at just 28% for the game and being outrebounded 50-38.
Foster and
Maiah Shelton were the only two Pilots to score in double figures, each scoring 11 points respectively.
