Grand Rapids, Mich. --- The Lady Pilots split day one of the Aquinas Classic with a sweep 3-0 over crosstown rival IU-South Bend and later swept by the Madonna Crusaders. Sophomore Hanah Weiss lead the Lady Pilots with 11 kills and Rachel Vendl lead the defense with 16 digs against IUSB. In game two Madonna won sets one and two by 9 points and 11 points before eventually losing a hard fought third set 26-24.

IUSB:

• Bethel outhit IUSB with a .349 hitting percentage
• The Pilot defense was solid with 41 digs and 8 blocks
• Elise Schildermans had 3 aces

 
 Madonna:

• The Crusaders beat the Lady Pilot offense 41-24 in kills
• Rachel Vendl had 9 blocks

• The Fall Classic day two continues at 11 a.m. against Saint Francis (Ill.) followed by the host Aquinas College at 1 p.m.
