SPRING ARBOR, Mich. – Bethel Softball earned an extra-inning win in game two to salvage a split at Spring Arbor on Monday afternoon. The Pilots rallied to tie the game with two in the top of the seventh inning and scored the eventual game-winning run in the top of the tenth. Bella Rose led the Pilot offense with four hits on the day, including a home run, while driving in three and scoring twice.

INSIDE THE BOXSCORES

• After taking the first lead of game one at 2-0 in the top of the second, the Pilots allowed 3, 2, and 2 runs in each of the Cougars' next three at bats for all the scoring of the opener.
• The Pilots held a 6-0 lead after four innings but gave up 8 unanswered—7 in the bottom of the fifth—to trail 8-6 entering their final at bat. The Pilots put their first four runners on base and an Amber Asher single tied the ballgame. Asher would drive home the game-winning run with another single in the top of the tenth.
• With one out and a runner on second, an 8-4 lineout double play ended the game and secured the victory for the Pilots.
• Chloe DeJonge came in relief in both games and pitched 7.1 innings on the day, allowing nine hits and one earned run.

NEXT TIME OUT

• The Pilots travel to No. 18 Marian on Tuesday for a doubleheader at 3:00 pm before heading back to Gardner Field to finish the season with eight doubleheaders in their final 10 matchups.
