MISHAWAKA – Bethel Softball opened Gardner Field on Thursday with a doubleheader split against No. 16 Marian, losing game one 7-0 before rallying in game two to earn the 5-2 upset win. Hannah Frady was the hero in game two, earning the win on the mound opposite of Crossroads League-leading ERA pitcher Jaylah Guilliam and belting the go-ahead 3-run home run at the plate in a five-run third inning.

• The Pilots have held leads in eight of 12 games this season.
• Despite the game one loss, the Pilot defense got out of situations with runners in scoring position and less than two outs in the first, second, and third innings without allowing more than one run each. 
• After allowing Marian to take a 2-0 lead in the third inning of game two, the Pilots rallied with three straight run-producing hits with two outs, capped by the go-ahead bomb by Frady—her second round-tripper in as many doubleheaders.
• The Pilots shut down the Knights the rest of the way, allowing just five baserunners across the last four innings.
