THOUGHTS FROM COACH DRABYN

  • "After another tough start defensively, I am proud of our players' effort to come back against a really good offensive team. They have experience, are a tough matchup playing small, and their guards are really good scoring the ball. Allen is a really tough guard with his quickness and abilities and made things go for them early. We changed our ball screen coverage and settled down defensively. We had a second half stretch where we got 12 out of 13 stops that won us the game. I thought Drew Greene came into his own tonight and played with toughness and grit on both ends; Brandon Hunt continues to get better and show more versatility, and Nathan Aerts made some big plays down the stretch There is plenty of stuff for us to work on, but proud of our effort against a team that is going to win a lot of games."

NEXT TIME OUT

  • The Pilots host another crosstown rival on Saturday at noon, inviting Holy Cross into the Wiekamp Athletic Center.
