Wilkerson is a 2004 Graduate of Aquinas College with three bachelor degrees in Business Administration, Accounting and Communication.
While competing for Aquinas College participated in six NAIA National Championships in both Cross Country and Track combined. Danny has earned his USATF Level 2 coaching certification in the Sprints, Jumps, Hurdles and Combined Events as well as other certifications in coaching and is part of the National Pole Vault Staff.
Wilkerson personally owns and operates a private athletic consulting company that works with the athletic development of high school, college and professional athletes in a variety of sporting events.
Danny has been involved with the Bethel College program for the past six years and while under his guidance he has had over 60 individual athletes compete at the NAIA Nationals in the sprints, hurdles and jumps while under his guidance as well as numerous individuals who competed on relay teams. Of those athletes, 19 earned NAIA All American status while one became a National Champion. On the NCCAA side, Wilkerson has guided 66 athletes to NCCAA All-American status of which 25 claimed the NCCAA National Champions since 2009.
Privately during his time working with high school athletes had trained over 30 athletes to All State honors, including 12 State Champs in the state of Michigan in both the sprints and jumps. On the Professional Track and Field side of things Wilkerson coached the 2010 US Outdoor and 2011 US Indoor National Champion in the pole vault Mark Hollis (18'10") taking him from 17'4" to 18'10". As well as 2011 top 20 World Ranked pole vaulter Mary Saxer (15'1"), taking her from 14'1" to 15'1".
Danny was honored with the title of USA High Performance National Pole Vault Coach of the year for 2010.
Wilkerson was born and raised in Marysville, Mich. and currently resides in South Bend, Ind. His parents still reside in the Marysville area. He has two sisters who are both married have two children that live in East Lansing, Mich. and Traverse City, Mich.
