Brittney Lightfoot

  • Title
    Head Coach

Brittney (Hire) Lightfoot will enter her second year with the Pilots coaching staff.  She currently is the head coach for the developmental softball team, as well as an assistant varsity coach.

Brittney started her education at NCAA DI University of Detroit Mercy before transferring to Bethel College in the fall of 2006. While at Detroit, she contributed right away in the circle and was named to the All-Newcomer Team.

After making the transition to Bethel, Brittney helped make the Pilots into the national power that it is today.  In her first season, as a sophomore, Brittney led the Pilots to their first ever NAIA National Tournament appearance with a 24-6 record and a 1.15 ERA.  Brittney was honored at the end of the season by the NAIA as she became just the third NAIA All-American in program history.

Brittney ended up being named a two-time NAIA All-American on her way to tying the Bethel career record for wins with 71.  Brittney’s 644 career strikeouts made her the programs all-time leader with nearly 200 more strikeouts than any other pitcher in Pilots’ history.

Lightfoot graduated from Bethel College in 2009 with an exercise science degree and an interest in physical therapy. After college, she worked at an Orthopedic Sports Medicine Center, as an aide, for one year before joining the Bethel College softball coaching staff.

She currently resides in Mishawaka, IN with her husband Robbie.
