Petro comes to Bethel University from West Virginia Wesleyan and was the Assistant Track and Field Coach for the Bobcats from 2022-24 and coached six all-conference athletes along with writing the strength program for the majority of the team. Before WV Wesleyan, Petro coached at The Villages Charter School and coached 13 state qualifiers and four school record breakers.Â
As an athlete, Petro threw for Defiance College and was a All-Conference four times and was the 2018 Male Athlete of the Year for the Defiance Yellow Jacket Athletics program. "I'm excited for the opportunity to join a program with a culture that will allow me to integrate my faith with my coaching. I'm looking forward to fitting the role the team has in store for me, while learning from the wealth of knowledge available on the staff," said Petro.
