Bethel University (Ind)

The Pilots picked up a host of awards and honors during the COVID-19-shortened 2019-20 year with two NCCAA National Runners-Up, 10 individual NCCAA National Titles, 14 NAIA All-Americans, 51 NCCAA All-Americans, 68 NCCAA Scholar Athletes, 4 National NCCAA National Player of the Year awards or honors, and 6 NCCAA Regional Player or Coach of the Year nods. Pilots were awarded National Player of the Week awards 24 times, across the NAIA and NCCAA. At the league level, Pilots earned 44 All-Crossroads League honors and 18 Crossroads League Athlete of the Week nods.

Bethel teams also picked up accomplishments, with the men's and women's bowling teams, and men's and women's swimming teams all participating in their first events as programs, men's rugby earning their highest ranking in program history, and men's basketball breaking a program record for most three-pointers made in a single game and matching their second-best start in program history at 15-0. Pilot teams also scored wins over opponents ranked or receiving votes in Top 25 polls 11 times.

BU coaches also reached milestones. Three coaches earned NCCAA North Central Region Coach of the Year honors: Steve Drabyn, men's basketball; Geandra Almeida, women's golf; Adam Sharp, men's golf. Almeida, Drabyn, Brad Foster (men's and women's tennis), Doug Porter (women's basketball), Darrell Knowlton (men's rugby), Chris Adams (men's and women's bowling), Deb Thompson (men's and women's swimming), and Danny Wilkerson (men's and women's track and field) all earned their first wins as a Pilot skipper.

Bethel had 5 teams ranked or receiving votes in Top 25 polls at some point during their respective seasons, with women's cross country, men's rugby, men's basketball, and men's and women's indoor track and field all cracking the Top 25 during the 2019-20 year.

Bethel had 12 teams get a taste of postseason play as well, with men's and women's cross country, men's soccer, women's volleyball, men's basketball, men's and women's swimming, men's and women's indoor track and field, men's and women's golf, and women's tennis all competing beyond the conclusion of their regular seasons. BU had four teams and one individual advance to compete at NAIA Nationals, as Emma Jankowski finished in 11th place individually in women's cross country, women's swimming scored as a team in their first championship meet in program history, men's and women's indoor track and field both placed 20th respectively in their NAIA Nationals meets, and men's swimming sent their team to compete at the NAIA Nationals for the first time in program history. Seven BU teams advanced to NCCAA postseason play, with men's and women's cross country placing 9th and 3rd, respectively, in the Championship, men's and women's indoor track and field both finishing in 2nd in the Championship, men's and women's golf placed 9th and 5th, respectively, at the Championship, while men's basketball postseason was cancelled due to COVID-19 before competing for an NCCAA North Central Region Championship.
